I've heard from many people that have gone there that the grounds are beautiful but the service sucks and they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. A cheap family breakfast for 4 people was $150.

$65 per night on a Wed. with a stampede of elephants running by only in the month of March.
If it sounds too good to be true, well.....you know the rest.

You're better off going to Vegas. Sometimes I see those type of cheap rates on TV for Treasure Island in Vegas. Treasure Island is right on the strip and nice enough. I'd take that TV offer rather than the Bahamas ones.

Atlantis is a tourist trap with the prices they charge for food. I've heard it from more than one person and complaints about it are all over trip advisor.

One of the most expensive places around, the meal plans are expensive as indicated but the private restaurants are even worse, $50 for just a plate of pasta, $10 beer, even the fast food a pizza and a glass of water over $10. You really need to be a hedge fund manager to go out at night.

If you don't mind staying outside Atlantis there is an all-inclusive right next door, Riu Palace that is reasonable but you will need to pay an entry fee to use the rides in Atlantis, depends on how many kids and how frequently you use the rides.

Try Tripadvisor for other opinions.

I was there last year in March and very much enjoyed the stay at Atlantis. We had no problems with service but the food is very expensive. We were there with an organized group so we had banquets most nights so that took care of most of our dinners and we ate lunch at one of the pool cafes. That was on the high side but not crazy and always delicious and fresh. For drinks, we walked to town and bought water/sodas/etc and brought them down to the pool with us. We also ate at the restaurants in the casino and once in town. There is an area of high end shopping and restaurants near to where the private yachts are docked.

The hotel is huge and it was nice to be able to walk from your room down to the water park easily. We made it down early and did all the rides we wanted then spent the rest of the day by the pool. It did get crowded and waiting long for a ride is not for me. We are two adults so riding a few rides the relaxing by the pool was our style. It would be very different if we had kids. The hotel grounds are beautiful but the class of room we had was nothing special. It was a great experience but if I would have to pay out of pocket in the future, I would stay close by and just visit Atlantis for the day. Talking with people at the water park we discovered that some close hotels offer packages that give you free access to Atlantis if you are staying there.

I think it is worth a visit but not necessary to stay on the grounds.
