44 and moving to West Michigan in June. Beautiful area, tons of fishing, good jobs waiting for wife and I, and great schools for the kids. No place in the State are you more than 6 miles from a lake, or 85 miles from one of the Great Lakes. Being how I love the water, was born there, and the family loves it there as well; it is time to go home.
I am 40, if money were not an issue, I would like to live in the Caribbean. I'm not sure which island.
I would be close enough for a short plane ride to the mainland should I need to but I would be surrounded by the ocean that I love so much.
I would love to move to an island as well, particularly Barbados. I've been there 3 times and every time I've went I didn't want to leave. It's such a beautiful place and it doesn't seem that much different from the US, which is good. Hopefully one day I'll be able to do that.

You won't regret it. Michigan has so much to offer at an affordable price, it's amazing. If you want a good fishing spot try the Pere marquette river 60 miles north of Grand rapids, 15 miles west of Baldwin, off highway 10, turn down Taylor Rd. The sleeping bear dunes are fun for the kids, same with mackinac island. But you said you were born there, so maybe you know that.
I'm 48 and we're hopefully going to Charlottesville, Virginia in April to see if we like it well enough to move to. Have never been to Virginia so can't wait to see it.
We'd love to live in the Boston area but the winters are a concern so we figure a little further south(like Virginia) might be a good choice.

Thanks for the response. I was born and raised bout a mile away from the Pere Marquette (just off Conrad road, between Ludington and Scottville). Taylor Road, I know it WELL! I have family that live in Walhalla and have fished off Taylor many, many times.
