Virginia Beach - went there for a relaxing 3 day vacation - left without enjoying even 1 full day. The jets taking off and breaking the sound barrier made conversation impossible.

Myrtle Beach - another 3 days planned relaxing on the beach only to wake up the first morning to the sound of bulldozers on the beach making berms. It was the day after Labor Day. Good grief, there's a whole bunch of summer still left! We tried to tough it out thinking it was just the one day - but 2nd morning it started up again at 7am. Bye Myrtle Beach! never to return.

Every other vehicle in Paris is equipped with a siren and it seems as if they are blaring all the time. Walking down Rue de Rivoli it seems as if every low level government vehicle is blaring its siren for no apparent purpose. I have not experienced this issue in other large European cities, or even in larger minor cities in France.

I've become so used to HVAC that the most annoying noise is the in the room air conditioner units. I carry with me ear plugs that I use at the (gun) firing range.

Sounds like people are obnoxious the world over with their noise. If not barking dogs it's roosters and loud speakers lol.

Dumpsters being emptied into the truck at 6 am.

Noisy campers early in the morning with barking dogs and crying babies.

People arguing in the hallway outside our room at the casino at 3 am. We had a morning flight and were trying to get some sleep. Apparently one had lost the key card and the other was mad about it. Instead of quietly going down to the desk for a new card, they had a verbal fight, while calling on the phone to demand someone bring them a new key card. I really let them have it. I have never seen two people more scared of a middle-age chubby lady in pj's! LOL!

An RV park near the Memphis airport, which is a hub for FedEx or UPS or maybe both.... The normal airport traffic stopped around midnight. Fine. THEN the FedEx/UPS planes start taking off. Zowie!

a hotel in Springfield, Il that is made from steel beams. It was particularly windy one evening and there was constant CREEEEEAAAK, for about 2 hours. It was soooo loud. i went to the front desk and they had printed out explanations and she gave me a white noise machine (that wasn't loud enough). Obviously, this is a regular occurrence.
