Any examples of things that tourists from other countries visiting your area find fascinating but you never give it a second thought? I've got a couple that come to mind from when I lived in Arizona.
1. We stopped at a gas station near Sedona and there was a tour bus parked there with a tour group from Japan. One by one there were taking a picture with the Arizona DPS State Trooper who had stopped there to buy a drink. He was incredibly patient, just standing there smiling for each picture while they excitedly waited in line. We made some joke about it and he said it's pretty common for tourists from Asia to want a picture with a cop with the classic smokey-the-bear hat, and if he's not wearing the hat they aren't interested.
2. At a diner near our home e we were eating breakfast when a group of four young Brits came in. They were all excited about eating in a real American diner. The comments they were making to each other were hilarious, everything from the menu to the decor. It really did seem to be a bucket list item for them for visiting USA.
Sometimes when I ride the city bus home from Walmart, I pretend I have just gotten off an international flight and I am seeing America for the first time. It's fascinating. Funny little license plates. Nobody walking. Strip malls with gun shops and dog-grooming salons.
Grew up in NYC. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I realized what a tourist mecca NYC is. We took school trips to the Museum of Natural History and the Bronx Zoo, and in high school we did a school trip to a Broadway matinee every semester. I thought nothing of those experiences and didn't really value them, unfortunately, even if I always had fun. As a young adult I first came to realize that people from all over the world were interested in visiting those attractions, and wish I had appreciated them more as a child.
I lived for 10 years in SW desert red-rock country where many movies were made. Foreign visitors walked around slack-mouthed staring at the stunning rock formations and canyons that they recognized from so many Western and other movies.
But I have to say, I never took it for granted. Spectacular country that I was lucky to be a part of.

they usually ask to go again.
Friends visiting us from abroad always want to get coffee "to go"! Where they live, it's something you only drink at a table.
My Aussie and Brit relatives always get coffee "take away" here and at home, not a big deal.
Tea on the other hand must be properly served!
