I would be okay with cameras on the outside of the property. That I get. If they were going to put cameras on the inside of the property, I would like to at least be informed. I don't like the idea of someone having a camera in the living room for me to be watched 24/7 so I wouldn't nix that rental if I knew in advance.

Since many airb&b owners rent their entire houses out often as vacation rentals the same way a hotel would, wouldn't you expect people to be having a good time? Don't people go on vacation with their spouses where things happen, perhaps outside of the bedroom? I'm not saying anything is right or wrong but I am saying when you rent things out, expect things to happen. (Like my friend who rents her vacation home out on airb&b---someone left her a sizeable gift in the toilet that she found a few days later when she went to clean-up the property for the next rental.)

We have a few Airbnb rentals and have a ring doorbell and exterior camera on all. Because we are not there to monitor when the property is unoccupied it's essential for security, to let in cleaning staff, talk to trades people etc. No guests have yet complained about any of these but they are disclosed in our listings as is the new requirement. We have not slowed down one iota in booking since all of this became public.

I occasionally rent with Airbnb, VRBO and others. If I were to find a camera inside, I would just resolve the issue with some paper and scotch tape.

You might want to get it sanitized before you sit it in again.
We had a guy complaining that he and his girlfriend couldn't make love outside because with the trees dead in winter the neighbors might see so he dinged our location rating. Didn't seem to be worried about the camera though. Ruined a shower curtain so I guess they found a more normal place to celebrate....

I'll have sex anywhere inside a house, including one that I pay money to rent one from.

Yes it goes with the territory. One of our rentals is used for honeymooning couples a lot. There is a hot tub. I don't even want to think about what happens in it but if they are paying it's theirs to use. it might be a little different if we were renting out a room in our primary house or our basement where the kiddo has a play area nearby. But in a vacation spot people get to feeling romantic.

You're damn right I am. I paid for the place and what I choose to do it in, so long as not to break any rules or laws or property, is my choice.

Literally, porn companies will rent out expensive homes in LA for that exact purpose.

Please tell me your cleaning crew ACTUALLY drains and refills it after each rental.

They are paid for that. But we have no way to know that they actually do as we aren't there between every rental. Not all of the guests use it and I can't say that I blame them. But the point was that you can't keep people from getting amorous in a vacation rental. It's just going to happen at some point.

The owner met me when we arrived and pointed them out to me. Very up front about it.
That's not good enough. They should disclose all cameras BEFORE you rent the house.
