Last few days had heavy fog down in the morning, and it just burned off by midday.
No disrespect intended, Eugene, but . . . WOW, AN ENTIRE WEEK?

Believe me, your tune would change drastically if you were to spend a year or two there. Lucky for you, Spring and Autumn are the best weather seasons. Also, the weather varies around the city and Market and 12th has much less severe weather than say, The Avenues and/or Top of Market and beyond.

Just my opinion but judging the weather for an area with only a few days experience is a little unrealistic.

There has to be plenty to do there. You just have to use your imagination, or stop being boring and get off the computer and do something. Kids need to spend more time out doing things rather then in on the computer or infront of the tv/videogames. Maybe you don't actually want to do anything. Maybe you like being where you are, doing nothing.

Are the weather differences felt in streets? WOW!

Absolutely . . .

Hard to believe but the weather around The City varies tremendously, especially out towards the Pacific Ocean (The Avenues) and at the top of Market and beyond (Portola and Diamond Heights). Many of those neighborhoods experience constant fog and high winds with little or no sunshine for weeks and longer.

Remember the "horror stories" about Candlestick Park over the years?

The area you are referring to (Lower Market and South of Market) probably has the best weather in The City.

I never knew that.
We were all over the city with the exception of areas South of Market (SoMa?)
On the first day we walked from Market/12th up to the Golden Gate Bridge, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge into Vista Point in Marin County. Walked back from there via Van Buren ave.
Second day we spent walking around Downtown, Chinatown, Coit Tower
Third day we walked from AT&T Park through the Embarcadero to Pier 39, took the Alcatraz boat thing
Fourth day we walked to the Twin Peaks area/Postcard Row. Awesome.
The rest of the time we were so pooped.. we spent most of the time exploring the area around market for great resturants (Not hard to find in SF )
The city is fantastic. Way better than NYC, in my opinion.

Hey, it may be cloudy most of the year, but those temperatures...
they can't be beat.
I mean... low to mid 50s in late July. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I'd trade this humid swamp for that any day.

LOL @ Eugene

I agree, San Francisco weather is a pleasant change of pace for a few days but definitely not my "cup of tea" as a residence.

As far as the sights . . . it sure sounds like you caught my favorites (The Alcatraz Boat Thing and The Golden Gate Bridge) but, once again, fun place to visit but not to live.

To be honest . . . I feel the same way about New York City (not necessarily the weather).

Kids don't know what they want, as having been one not that long ago, I look back and things have changed a lot. Once you mature you will realize how this thing called "money" comes in to play a big factor, and thats probably why your parents didn't move there. It's not that hard to understand. If you buy a house in Tucson for about $200,000, you would have had to pay around $750,000 for that same house in california. I used to always want to move to CA, I spent last summer in san diego in an apartment downtown. It wasn't that great, yes hte weather was nice, but too many people, TOOO many people. You can't even drive during the day. On the way driving home to Ohio, we drove through Arizona. I fell in love with it, so many different things in Arizona to like. Also, if you leave your house there is probably something to do, and you could also lose some weight doing that(based on the fact that a majority of kids are obese nowadays)haha.

Default Thank God for Mt Lemon

I have to agree and a little more. Tucson is disgusting. Trash everywhere, people are as weird as it gets. The crime here is out of hand. In Colorado you can go into the mountains and most of, if not all the mountain towns are Norman Rockwell paintings come to life. In Tucson if you go into the hills better take a side arm. Ever see the movie "The Hills Have Eyes"?

There is no flow to the city either. The only area worth a damn is University where the college kids hang out and that is only about 400 yards long.

Keep this in mind, I moved here with the best attitude in the world. The weather is really nice here but this town needs a good flushing. AND STIFF $1000 FINES FOR LITTERING. GROSS.

I didn't read the whole thread, but did anybody ever find out how old the OP was?

Sounded like a kid to me, and I can tell you that when I was a kid, I was never bored. Always out playing games, or some sport, or climbing trees, riding bikes... anything. Had fun friends and we had a blast.

That was before the age of video games (and I'm glad).

Anybody'd be bored if they sat all day at their computer.

Oh, and I lived in Denver for 6 months. It's nice enough up there, but they can have those winters. Nah, I like it here much better.
