We are retired and love older smaller towns. I think Claremore might suit us just fine. Daughter lives in Tulsa. I just do not understand why I can't find ano older historic or vintage type home in Claremore. I have searched all kinds of realty sites. I know there's got to be some old homes there. Anybody got any input? Know a good realtor that knows Claremore?

Thanks, Roger

As far as I know claremore is a farm community without a real good historical/vintage feel. You will find hundreds of those types of homes in Tulsa but you may hav to look at a closer suburb like Jenks or a more distant one like okmulgee or muskogee to get the feel you are looking for.

One more thought, claremore's neighbor, Pryor, might be more up your alley.

Claremore is a nice town. As for older homes, while the downtown has many older commercial and retail buildings, less than 12% of the homes in Claremore are over 50 years old. Considering that Claremore is a small town (17,000+) to begin with, that doesn't give you too many older homes to choose from. I agree with sgrizzle. You may need to look at Tulsa if you want older homes. There are lots of them here. Good luck with your search.

As a 31 year Tulsa resident I wish that I now lived in Claremore. Its a great "small town" America and yet big enough to have 24 hr businesses.I would highly recommend Claremore.
