It seems that almost every comedy and drama contains drinking alcohol either on a regular basis or at least once per episode. I gave up drinking back in 1995 and even back then I didn't drink nearly as frequently as what's shown on TV. Do you, your friends, and or your family drink this frequently?

No, I only drink when I'm with a friend/group of girls at a bar. Socially, Not at home or not anytime I'm out at a restaurant either. I like an occasional drink but I think it's a luxury, why cheapen it by having it at my disposal all the time?

I think they just need a place for the characters to 'meet up' and they can't be eating all the time. So, the drinking meet and greet works for the script.

I drink alcoholic beverages very seldom and then only at home, only one or two drinks on those occasions. DH is an alcoholic sober for 8 years now.

I drink a few times a month. I would drink every day if I could afford it. It only becomes a problem when it interferes with your health or getting daily activities done. I drink or two a day seems harmless enough.

No, I don't drink at all really... I prefer a more natural substance for relaxing, LOL.

There's nothing wrong with adults having a drink together socially.
Why does everyone question something that isn't like them? Sort of judgemental don't you think?

I don't think anyone here was judging, least of all myself... we were just answering the question!

LOL!!! I very rarely have a drink at home (I'd prefer a cup of tea!), but without fail, every time that Brothers & Sisters or Desperate Housewives is on, I feel a craving for a glass of wine!
