I think it should be saved! I don't watch it every time, but I DO watch it!

Admittedly I haven't watched it for over 10 years, but growing up used to every saturday night with COPS. I'm not a habitual tv watcher anymore, except for a show or two, so that is part of it.

I think it's not so much it's a bad concept, it just needs a reboot, maybe a new network or a tie in with a different show. Every show has to end sometime.

COPS, I can do without. Stupid show, same old crap every episode. Will be glad to see it go.

FOX TV would rather run big -profit talent shows like American Idol than public-service shows like AMW. It's all about profits.
As Gordon Gekko said, "Greed is Good".

I read somewhere that FOX plans on airing a few new "America's Most Wanted" Specials over the course of the year. Hopefully, that will continue for many years to come.

I always thought that on every hour of prime tv time they should take a few minutes of commercial time to put pictures up of most wanted criminals. I think it should be a public service that the major networks be willing to perform!

It has been picked up on the Lifetime East channel. The good thing is that it runs the show several times...check your local listings

They're also in the process of doing 2 hour specials for FOX. Next airing is I believe is sometime in Feb. This was announced on the AMW 2hr show special on FOX about 2 weeks ago.

Sorry to bump this thread again, but I guess Lifetime cancelled America's Most Wanted back in March. It's been a good show over the past 20+ years, and a lot better than most of what's on TV today. Maybe one of the cable news networks can revive this show again.
