There are SO many more shows that deserve cancellation. There's been a lowering of the bar as far as how high the ratings have to be to avoid cancellation. An overall declining viewership, I guess, coupled with financial realities as far as how much money the networks can spend on new shows. On the other hand, I think there's shows like Jane the Virgin, that just haven't caught on for some reason, but it's an excellent show!

Jane the Virgin isnt currently in danger of being cancelled.

USA has confirmed season 8 (8 episodes) will be the final season.

I think that effectively ends USA's "blue sky" television

No, but I'm sure it misses out on a larger audience being on the CW. Most people think its a network of only teenage dramas, which Jane the Virgin is not.

True but it actually helps being on the CW. They have a cult following so their millionish viewers every week are enough to keep it on the air for several seasons whereas on one of the big 4 it probably wouldnt last past the first 13eps.
