I remember Hazel. She had a screechy voice and just ran around a lot. The flying nun--wow strange. I don't remember much of it--thankfully. Mister Ed was kinda weird, but it worked and I still laughed when I saw re-runs recently. The writing on that show was very funny and clever.

It didn't get any weirder than Dark Shadows. I still can't get enough of that show.

Yes! LOL. I actually found them on VCR many years ago and gave them to my daughter, she loved them!

On the others-
Agree that the Flying Nun was just plain weird. I think I liked it back then, but what an odd concept, but then again so was I dream of Jeannie and Bewitched!

Loved Dark Shadows. Lots of weird shows - Man from U.N.C.L.E., Lost in Space. I loved The Mothers In Law but I was very, very young when I watched it. Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans. Whizzo the clown.

Little House on the Prairie, for all its purported wholesomeness, had some really bizarre plots (clown mime rape, a mother hallucinating that Laura was her dead daughter & locking her in the basement, Carrie shrinks and gets chased by a giant spider, etc.) and historical accuracy be damned. Laura Ingalls Wilder was probably rolling in her grave. The books were better by far but I still love the show.

Dark shadows was indeed weird, but let's not forget about Victor on the Y & tR when he kept a woman locked up in the cellar!!!

I'm 46 years old.

In the early seventies there was an animated and puppet educational based program for children on PBS called Vegetable Soup.
It was one of the most creepy and disturbing programs for children ever written.
I watched it whenever it was on and because of it I suffered nightmares and issues with concentrating on it during the day at school.

The worst part of the program was when the puppets from Outer scope would come on.

About ten years ago I belonged to an online group that consisted of people like myself that were affected by the program.
The group existed as a form of outlet for people to express the problems they had because of this program.

I remember some of those people spoke of having to go to therapy because of it.

It's too difficult to explain the reasoning as to why so many people were affected you just had to have watched it to know what I'm talking about.
Was anyone else negatively affected by this program?

I literally blanked out the flying monkeys in the W of Oz. Although I watched it every year as a child, when I saw it as an adult I absolutely did not remember that scene at all! Maybe it was the colorization or something, but, boy, I could have sworn that wasn't in the versions I saw as a child.........
