I remember Nanny and The Professor and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. They were a little before my time but when very young I saw them on afternoon reruns. The Courtship of Eddie's Father and A family Affair. None laugh out loud funny but some pretty good acting and story lines.
I've been watching "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" and I don't know how he put up with her. She cut down a beloved tree he planted and threw away his valuable antique furnishings.. which she didn't even own. She just rented the place. Charles Nelson Riley was weird but always fun to watch. And the housekeeper stole every scene she was in.
I share George Costanzas opinion of hazel The maid. hated that show although Shirley Booth did some good Christmas voice character work.
I loved The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. At the time, it seemed fine that she would tear the place apart to get her new kitchen and thow out his antiques. It was such a 60s attitude. Watching some of the episodes a couple of years ago, I felt just like you did. I was amazed at how times changed about preservation of history and conservation. Thank Goodness.
Saturday Mornings 1978: The Bay City Rollers Show. Along with it was Witchiepoo's Horror Hotel and Lost Island. They threw together the villains and characters of Sid and Marty Kroft's Saturday morning shows. Bizarre and fun. The BCR were a downer although I guess they had a hit or two. maybe they're being on it was zen. A major rock band reduced to a kiddy show. That's Hollywood. Without a doubt that was the end of the Golden Era of Saturday Morning Cartoons.
If there was a way to make it better it was that none of the Land of the Lost kids were on it( but they had Sleestak) and that Hoodoo wasn't played by Charles Nelson Reilly. The guy playing Hoodoo was a good facsimile, though.
"Lost In Space," "Night Gallery," "The Real McCoys," "Thriller" and others mentioned are being shown on the retro channels. THISTV, METV and ANTV. I find them more fun to watch than some of the new shows.
Family is a 70s drama that was quite good but has been mostly forgotten. It starred Sada Thompson, James Broderick, Meredith Baxter (who plays a "bad" girl for a change - she was rather flakey), and launched the career of Kristy McNichol.
I loved 'The FBI', which ran in the 60's. Not really a weird show but kind of weird for a 7-year old, I guess. I remember getting my father to read the 'epilogues' because I couldn't read that fast.

I remember it. Thought the story lines were pretty good, well as far as my thinking then. Was on at least a few seasons?
