I know, I got annoyed when they said transmutation, since they were using the word incorrectly. changing lead into gold, or a plant into a rabbit would be transmutation. So I just kept calling it teleporting, and forgot what they had initially called it.

Decent finale. Wasn't what I was expecting at all. Cordelia the supreme. For the longest I thought the new supreme had to be young but I guess I was wrong. At least it wasn't Madison. It would have been Fiona 2.0 if that b*tch turned out to be supreme. Serves her right to be strangled to death by her own Frankenstein. I have to say. The writers give Frances Conroy some interesting and off the wall characters to play. Myrtle by far has been the best of them all. I patiently await next year's offering. They've done haunted houses, Looney bins and now witches. What else is there?

After AHS took a break, around the holidays, I just could not get back into again. I do like reading this thread though to see what happened.

I was also wondering what they could do next season. Going through all the horror genres/themes they've done so far:

Murder House: ghosts, Frankenstein-like monsters

Asylum: serial killers, aliens, Frankenstein-like mad scientists, angel of death, criminal-insanity, gothic horror (old scary building in a storm), sadism

Coven: witches, witch persecution, demons, voodoo, serial killer, zombies, Frankenstein-like monsters, ghosts

What "American horror" themes haven't they done yet? Maybe vampires, but vampires or so over-done lately. Kind of a yawn-fest. Werewolves? Meh, how would they make them actually scary? Maybe some isolated freakish Texas-chainsaw type family? Maybe a doomsday cult with a cult leader who has supernatural connections?

We haven't had many children in the storylines; I think child-focused horror tends to be the most creepy and scary. Sweet innocent looking little kids who are evil or possessed or talking to the dead. Bring that stuff on! That would be my vote-- American Horror Story: Creepy Kids.

IDK, if you die in the process that's kind of a fail. Game over.

Default Next year's season ... some hints!

Here are some hints that I have read so far:

'American Horror Story': Season 4 to be set in [spoiler] | Inside TV | EW.com

Quote:
American Horror Story: Coven is beginning to wrap up its phenomenal season (Wednesday’s episode is a doozy) but co-creator Ryan Murphy has already begun plotting and planning his fourth installment of the FX franchise…as well as peppering the final episodes with tiny hints as to next year’s plot. “It’s set in 1950,” Murphy reveals exclusively to EW. “If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited!”
And this article from the Huffington Post adds something to the time period and mentions casting for Season 4 and says they are also working on scripting Season 5:

Ryan Murphy Says 'American Horror Story' Season 5 Is Planned, Spills New Season 4 Details

Quote:
Murphy previously revealed Season 4 was set in the 1950s, but now he's told EW that there's another era thrown in the mix.

Murphy previously said that Jessica Lange has been practicing her German accent (hmm), so we know she's coming back. While the Season 4 cast hasn't been confirmed on paper yet, Sarah Paulson told The Hollywood Reporter "I'm on track and that is the plan."
I find the bolded intriguing. What is peppered into the final episodes that hints to next year's plot?

I wonder if it's going to be something about cold war spies or McCarthy's witch hunts (NPI.) I'm not seeing where the "horror" part comes in with either of those, though.

Aliens, maybe? When was Roswell?

He said, “If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year." So let's research the exact year 1950 and think what could be turned into horror! I wasn't even born then so I have a lot of researching to do! Even my mom and dad were little kids then!

If she's doing a German accent because she's a post-war Nazi in the US, they already covered that in Asylum. Yes, Nazis, even Nazis in hiding are scary, but they already did that.

I know. So it's not going to be about that. Or at least it shouldn't ...
