I agree that you can't just drag out a story line forever. I also agree that this season was a bit lackluster, compared to the other ones (though I also didn't care much for the season set on the island - can't remember which season that was, after the ship wreck). I just want the story to get into the American Revolution. I do think that the historical elements are very interesting.
I didn't care for the island season either....
it was for me, just ok....
WEll, in the beginning when Claire and her husband were vacationing in the highlands, who was the Scott ghost that Frank encountered standing there looking up throught the window at Claire. Remember when he thought it might have been someone she worked with as a nurse? Frank said he was dressed like a Scottsman. Sorry I just assumed?
Well since that was 200 years in the future (from Jamie's perspective) yeah, he would be dead by then.

Jamie even points that out to Brianna at one point after she returned to the past. He was dead as soon as she went through the stones back to the future.
Diana is currently working on Book 10, the last in the series. She has already told us that it is Jamie's ghost that Frank encountered in the first book, and she has already written the ending of Book 10 in which all is explained.
I am not expecting her to kill off either Jamie or Claire, but that is only my opinion.
I loved this show when I watched it, which now seems like years ago. Just last night when scrolling through Netflix, I saw "new episodes available" (season 5). I started watching 5-1, which of course started with clips from the previous season. Nothing looked familiar at all. I started wondering if I had somehow never watched season 4. So I started watching 4-1. Maybe too much time has elapsed since I last saw it, but nothing looked familiar or made much sense (Jamie's friend, (Hayes? I dont even remember him!) was being hanged for some reason).
I don't know if it's worth trying to figure out at this point. I know I don't have a good memory when it comes to TV, movies, or books. At this point I feel like I'd have to go all the way back to the first, or maybe second season. Or maybe I can find a really really good recap site.

Is season 5 worth my figuring everything out?
So what's the problem with going back to season 1? If you liked it once you'll like it again, and if you don't remember it then it wont be boring.

I guess that's a good point!
