Whelp, Ray's back at it! Handled his first job like a charm. Calling Uber was so genius! Interested to see where the writers take Ray emotionally after killing Cookie, Losing Kate, then Ezra. Can't wait till Sunday...

It's Season 3.

And all I can say is - Well done Ann Biderman!!!

Awesome season opener!!! It seems like everything has kicked up another level - writing, cinematography (not that it needed it).

I especially like the evolution of Mickey - from annoying, selfish petty crook to do-gooder kingpin, great story arc!!

Bring it on!

It's good to see Ian McShane in the new series too, he's a great actor.

Yeah, kudos to Ann. She left this season didn't she? I think season 3 was her last season as a writer with the show.

I had not heard that - ?? Credits from episode 1 have her listed as "Executive Producer."

Lots of showrunners (like Lena Dunham) stop writing and concentrate on running things (namely hiring good writers and directors).

Assume Biderman is still the showrunner - ?

Yeah, season three was her last season. ‘Ray Donovan’ Creator Ann Biderman Steps Down as Showrunner | Variety

Too bad for her. The quality of the show appears not to have suffered.

Does anyone know the *breed* of the dog Abby rescued? I would have said Great Dane, but the head is too huge.

Maybe Great Dane/ pit bull terrier cross?

Also, Katie Holmes probably looked more attractive than I've ever seen before on Sunday. I hope we get to "see" lots of her

I can see that Katie will have to grow on me; so far she hasn't gotten me excited. And by the way, her hair looked like legit CRAP tonight! Like, wispy, nesty, I just woke up and tiny birds may be living in there hair.

Anywho, totally annoyed and pissed off with Bunchy running the gym; he has zero backbone, and is way too emotional unstable to handle a business on his own. But I guess with Ray off doing what he does, Terry in prison, and Mickey running around as a wannabe gangster, there's no one really left. All he does is screw up every one of his sons lives up! Ugh...

Just wondering how long Abby will survive in that lonely marriage? I mean, what's her recourse? Is she educated? Could she take care of the kids on her own without Ray if they got a divorced? I mean, even if he paid child support, still...no way would have lasted even this long!
