it's not just hormones for Kate. She is the one who had to deal with the morning sickness if she had it at all and the aches and pains here and there. It was her body that was doing the work.
She was only 6 weeks pregnant. Hormones, for sure, but none of the other comes into play. The D&C after the miscarriage, and its emotional toll, is the hardest part.

Actually the doctor said she didn't require a D&C because "almost all" the tissue was ejected by the miscarriage...
Think that is not the way real OBGYNs make decisions---
Had daughter of friend who has miscarriage w/first pregnancy
Had problems afterwards for weeks
Finally discovered there was still tissue that was not absorbed or expelled...
I think this is another writers' decision about how "reality based" this is going to be...and they decided the story needed to move along...
Way too much time spent talking about Kates weight and Toby's personality. we should instead be talking about how stunning Beth is...I didn't pay as much attention last year but by God she is one of the sexiest people I've ever seen on TV. Wow.

It's hard to avoid when it's a central focus for Kate, and the show, and they haven't shown much of Randall and Beth of late. I presume (hope!) we see them int he next epi......and more about Deja.

Of course how could I forget?
How about 60-30-5-5?
Watching the last 3 episodes, each focusing on one kid, it's clear to me that the Randall and family story line is way more compelling than the other two for me.
I tried watching this show and honestly don’t get the hype. It’s so contrived and poorly acted. Is it because the show runners know exactly how to play their audience? It’s like a soap opera with better production value.
