I don't see why they would. You really think that many people watched each week just to see how Jack died? I'm actually glad all the "how he dies"talk is over and done with and we can just enjoy the show for what it is.

I was expecting to ugly cry through the episode. I was with my family in the ER when my dad died. It's the most gut-wrenching experience of my life. This wasn't. I teared up several times, but my crying came with the twists at the end.

I was expecting to cry the entire show but like you it was just in a few places. The end...wow. The next show may be the hardest part for me.

We thought the same thing then for Rebecca not to even rush over to his bed when she did go back into the room. Well lets just say we thought that to be odd.

Perhaps the medical devices we have available to us now were not available when Jack needed them? Or doctors didn't know more about in depth lung issues as much as today?

I didn't really expect him to come out of that house, after he went in for the dog. When he did, I'm thinking...but he's going to die, and I knew his death was associated with that fire...and with super-bowl. I was surprised that they weren't more aggressive with treatment and monitoring on him. But I guess...small hospital ER? And this was many years ago. An ER doctor now, especially one with more experience in critical care for patients who have been in a fire, might have dome things differently. When she left to make that call, I knew something was going to happen and I kept mentally telling her to go back. All those people in the background, rushing in...I knew it must be a code! Poor Jack! At least now we know why Kate blames herself for it happening, although she shouldn't.

i'm glad to have a definite answer to how jack died finally and what all happened on that night. now we can move on.

tess! what a cool surprise! the actress who plays tess is so pretty. when she was watching from the stairs at the end...just so pretty. i like to see the foster girl back. i still don't like toby, and i really wish they had a different actor for him, that actor just really bugs me, but i liked the interaction with kate and toby tonight.

i want to know more about miguel. i hope, soon, they delve more into his life and his story. (can i just say that i don't think i have ever used the word "delve" before. )

kevin, i think, has a lot of guilt for a lot of things and not being there the night of the fire and being out at a party when it all happened and everyone was together when they found out their dad died, except him. and that he never got to apologize to his dad. yeah...

It was 1998, not 1898.

He died on super bowl Sunday but the super bowl isn't on the same day every year. He died on January 25, 1998. This super bowl was 10 days different. Do they just ignore the January 25th anniversary and only get sad on super bowl Sunday?

Not at all. She was in shock, and people react differently to shock. Rebecca's reaction was completely understandable - Jack was fine when she left, and five minutes later he was not. That's a lot to digest, especially after the trauma of escaping a fire and watching your home turn to ashes.

A lot of medical advances have occurred in the last 20 years.
