Ok, this was not the trailer I saw yesterday, that I responded to. I would never have been excited about the program as shown above. Looks as plain as day.
What I saw was a trailer of KG and DHP in a sinister plot, with a briefcase full of money. It was suspenseful and intriguing. Wow, it like disappeared, I can't find it.
Anyone know what I am talking about? I know I didn't imagine it.
We are Frasier fans here, but I just don't think the reboot will do much more than get "booted". Not enough of the original characters for one, and I have seen Kelsey Grammar try to make it with another show, and it was not good. Unless they have some dynamite characters to carry Kelsey, I just think it will flop big time!
It doesn’t look good. As others have pointed out, the original show’s cast is what made it great (especially David Hyde Pierce and how he and KG played off one another). I think that it is telling that many of the original cat could have come back for the reboot but decided not to.
And why didn’t they get Trevor Einhorn to play adult Freddie? I don’t like the actor playing Freddie—he doesn’t seem to have a talent for comedy….
That's quite the deviation from Freddy's original character. I realize he was just a kid and people can change when they grow up, but it just seems unlikely. I guess we're not supposed to think about that too much though since it's just a comedy.
I'm sure they'll deal with that in the show. Frasier and Lilith tried to raise Freddy with the taste and refinement they had. It'll be interesting to see them wondering where they failed and it'll be the blue collar vs. white collar story that Frasier had with his father.
