Yeah, I noticed that all the time especially Dorothy. I've seen Blanche and Rose in shorts - don't know about Sophia but with Dorothy it was always pants and long sleeved blouses.

It's funny! even when they're sitting out on the "lanai"!! all long sleeves, pants, etc.

I heard the reason she wore those types of clothing is b/c she felt self-conscious about her weight. Way back in her Maude days, she always wore the big clothes.

That makes sense. I hated those outfits she wore on Maude but typical of the time.

yeah, I figured it was either their age or that they just weren't comfortable bearing any skin. But as the other poster mentioned, Blanche and Rose wore some summer outfits, rarely, if ever did Sofia, and I don't remember Dorothy in anything summer-ish.

Good call! And she also dressed up as Turkey Lurky in the play. No pants just tights in that costume.

yep! and don't forget when Sophia ran that marathon, she wore shorts but with sweats underneath!! In MIAMI!! are you kidding me????? ha! ha!
