The Bates home appears to be a tidy, organized farmhouse-where did you see 'dump'?
Not everyone needs or wants a McMansion.
Only Jinger gets to decide what she is-not people on an internet forum.
no, not everyone needs a mcmansion, but the point is, they live in poverty because they have so many kids. The article even says they qualify for welfare. Tidy or not, they live in poverty. Not every quiverfull family can afford to live like the Duggers.

Not every family with 1.8 kids can live like the Duggars either. And plenty of people who qualify for welfare (which the article also says the Bates do not use) have only 1 or 2 or so kids. The Bates aren't asking you to support their family.
I think it's unfair for children to have to suffer the consequences of their parents' mission to have "as many babies as the Lord will allow." Part of a parent's responsibility is to meet the needs of their children. Love is important, and I'm sure the Bates love their kids very much, but their poverty isn't due to a disabled breadwinner, accident, or natural disaster. It's a direct result of the parents' actions!
Do children need luxuries? Of course not, but they also do not need the added stress and strain of being poor by choice.

Reason: typo
As are you. Re-read my post. I said that is a parent's responsibility. Nowhere did I state that the Bates had not done that.
Easy now.
You may wish to re-read your very own posts. I think that perhaps, you have some personal issue with larger families, and do not like that I'm pointing out actual, you know, facts, that may run counter to your opinion.

And you accuse me of making "baseless, dangerous accusations". You're taking this all very seriously.
BTW, posts, plural? What's your point?
