Right now the title of your topic is merely "Guam" - perhaps it would be better to make it more relevent/more descriptive in reference to the information you're seeking (e.g. "Request info on living/working in Guam")
Guam is a beautiful island. The cost of living may be high but its livable. The local people have a high amount of respect especially for their elders. The teaching jobs, I believe there are many to choose from as long as you have the right education. Once again Guam is a great place to live and its very beautiful!
My dad is from Guam though I've never had the chance to visit, myself. My brother and my youngest sister visited years ago. It's a great little island from what he tells us. Sorry I don't have specifics.
It's been a while since I've been to Guam (I last lived there in 1994) and visited in 1999. I remember Guam being very pricey due to the high demand there and limited resources. Also, jobs are limited with it being such a small area. Many people that are there relied on their resources to survive or they marry the military to escape. I really love Guam....but realize that jobs may pay more but it also costs more. Be prepared for tropical storms, typhoons, and earthquakes to deplete your sources at any time. Check for government jobs there with the civil service to ensure job security...they also pay well. (www. usajobs.gov) and choose Guam for your location.
I was stationed on Guam and I really liked it. You really can't beat the beaches for beauty, although things do get challenging during typhoon season, especially when the power goes out. I got out alot and explored the island and surrounding ones as well. I also think alot of jobs would center around tourism and therefore would be low-paying, so do your research on one of those government jobs.
YES, I lived in Guam it is cool but very hot and humid.
