Americans seem to think every country outside the US is poor. Go to the politics forum. Oh Greece is poor, oh spain is poor etc. Despite both having longer life expectancies and lower infant mortality than the US.

I admit, american cities look impressive from afar, but up close, they all look like war zones, Detroit especially, but all of them to some extent. Their highways too, look impressive from a distance. Up close, potholed and decrepit.

Trying to reason with a yank is impossible though. Theyre all indoctrinated to think they are special.

I think you should see a neurologist or psychologist because it sounds like you have some serious mental deficiencies. Maybe just a second grade education might help..

Or failing that, he should just stop reading the Daily Mail?

Good lord

If you represent the future of the United Kingdom, I truly despair.

I don't believe or agree with you. Show me these cancer rates.

Another one sentence reply from a jumped up yank. How refreshing.

I would suggest the same if I thought he could read.

Since he accused me of being a "jumped up yank" despite the fact that I make no secret of the fact that I am a British expat, including in my original post, I must say that I share the same doubts as you.

Denmark has the highest, I believe:

World cancer statistics | Overall | WCRF UK

There could be many factors at play though. Many European nations tend to smoke & drink more than their American counterparts. Smoking is one of the leading causes of cancer.

I don't know why living in Denmark would give you the urge to smoke. I would just cycle a lot and enjoy the beer, temperate climate and socialism.
