Before the Green line opened, DART had 44 miles of track and aout 30 some odd stations. When the Green line is fully opened, by December of next year, it will add another 25 miles of trackage, adding up to about 70 miles, and over 40 stations. In addition, there will be another commuter rail line connecting to the Green line with, ultimately, another 20 miles of rail. The new Orange line will connect to the DFW airport, adding maybe another 10 miles, and the Fort Worth system is working on a rail line that will connect to the Orange line airport station and extend to downtown and southwest Fort Worth. Note that there is already an existing rail line connecting the Dallas and Fort Worth downtowns, in addition to the existing 50 miles of DART Light Rail.

The metro Dallas rail expansion is the largest new rail program in the United States, and will provide rail service appropriate for the 4th largest metro area in the US.

Oh yeah I know I've been looking at the progress of DART and been been a rider on it, but I had no idea the ridership rates were up in the 70,000 range I have no idea where I heard that 35,000 number now. I have never been on the TRE, do you have any experience with it?

The Long island railroad will be making a stop in Grand central station in about 3 years. The 2nd Ave subway line is being built too, but I think that will be about 5 years.
