I also keep this Vancouver Neighborhood pic on C-D (with my subjectively favorite areas circled)

We moved here from Alabama back in January. We are living in west Vancouver (just north of the city limits). I think the Lincoln area is near downtown. I joined a neighborhood forum after moving here and occasionally read about car break-ins, property theft and mail theft. It is often from people living in the Lincoln Park area, although sometimes other places near us. Our neighborhood is fairly quiet and not as congested as the downtown area, which reminds me a bit of Portland neighborhoods (narrow streets, houses pushed up close together and parking on the street). I think practicing common sense is important - keep any eye on suspicious people walking around your neighborhood, don't leave your car unlocked and your garage door open. For a city this large, I don't think crime is as bad as other cities.

I recently moved to Lincoln. It seems to be pretty hit or miss. The street I live on seems OK but only about a quarter mile away there has been some property crime- but nothing violent that I'm aware of, and anecdotally it seems to mostly be people leaving valuables in their car in plain sight which I really wouldn't do no matter where I lived.

I guess I'm due for an update here. I finally made it to The Couve in August of 2015. Bought a nice place right near 205/Mill Plain. Here's my crime report: once saw a dude taking bottles from recycle bin, more often I have squirrels stealing eggs form the chicken nest. There are some gun shots and likely fireworks on the 4th and when Trump was announced as the winner of the election. No reports of those being robberies or murders, just some drunk dudes being dumb. I'd say my neighborhood is extremely quiet and feels safe. I do have a neighbor that drums loudly all day and I work from home. He's nice though and follows the city rules for noise. So far it's been nice and I've enjoyed watching the city "come up" a bit with the opening of some nice restaurants and beer joints here on the East side!
