No animal products. I guess they can eat margarine, if so inclined.

There are products like Earth Balance, an plant-oil-based substitute that tastes pretty decent.

I don't think that's even in the "very strict" category. A good majority do not.

I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification.

Why People are so against Veganism?

Are there really people who are literally against veganism rather than people just making their own choices of what they consider to be their preference and to their liking? Am I that simple minded?

I am carnivorous but honestly I am not against veganism nor the people who choose that over my choice. Is there no middle ground of live and let live, without criticism and/or judgement.

Or is this more about the animals as opposed to a "lifestyle" choice?

ok here is why- say im at a family,,,,company picnic and its a buffet..

you have a good salad......I have protein on my plate...
I will not critique your food choices at all....but if you start critiquing my food/protein choices...then we have a problem..

this happened to me twice … two vegans across the table started to shame us for eating burgers.....
the other time was at a family gathering she had plenty of salads to choose from and pasta …
but that wasn't enough she went on to demean the rest of us for eating pork ribs and steak...

im sure it doesn't happen all the time...but this is one reason why vegans distance others.

I have nothing against any type of eater. What I do have something against is anyone who believes they are within their rights to chastise and critique what others choose to eat. Get off your soapbox - regardless of what brand of diet you swear by. Put a cork in it.

If I'm eating veggies and other delicious foods including salad (vegans eat more than just salad BTW) I'll also have loads of protein on my plate. Just sayin

It's difficult to be a vegan at meat eating functions. I don't see the meat on your plate as food, to me it's a murdered dead animal. It's upsetting. I'm not going to say anything unprovoked, but in my experience at events like that MY plate will get criticism first
