I've skied 4 out of the past 7 days. Even my little guys are asking to go skiing every day. Yesterday was too cold but the other days have been fine. We ski at Bolton and I like how low key it is there. It's definitely not a fashion show there! And people actually know how to ski well.

New snow predicted over the next week it looks like. Should make for some awesome conditions. I have yet to get out this season!! Bolton is a great family area.

Yeah, I can't wait! I am on vacation all week so we plan to ski the rest of the time, assuming we can actually get to/from the mountain on Friday. The conditions are excellent right now. The only bad part is that the main quad is out of service. There is a problem with the motor. But the trails off of Wilderness are in great shape.

I love the winter here. What winter should be, not 38 and rainy, but actually cold, actual snow for actual winter activities. I hate staring at dead plants and brown grass for 4 months, would much rather have 5 or 6 months of white snow.

Heck we built our house in the middle of winter last year, spent everyday we were up there shoveling and battling -13 degree air temps on the top of a hill with 20mph winds....ah the good old days.

It's been a pretty mild winter so far. I'm liking it but wish it'd get colder more. 30 below would be nice for a few days...

I could have sworn I saw a faint Northern Lights (green, barely visible) last night, but no one else I know noticed it.

Well, I went for my 2 mi. walk last night around 7 and didn't notice, but the air here was full of blowing snow off of Jay Peak and it's neighboring ridge lines. The moon was barely visible most of the time. It was about 8 below and the wind was nasty. Great walk, though.

Another great day at Bolton today! Almost everything was open and the snow was deep and soft. And I met plenty of nice people on the lifts today - natives, flatlanders, real vermonters, NYers, yuppies, hippies, conservatives, right wingers....whatever stereotype you want to name was there and everyone was enjoying skiing together as a community.
