To Move or not to move (Reston: transplants, home, to live in)

I am considering taking a job offer in the Reston area of Northern Virginia, I have never been to Virginia and I have no family in the area aside from my toddler. I am being considered for a position in Reston, VA, but as a newbie I am skeptical whether it would be a good place to move alone with a three year old. I anyone has any suggestions, and or can recommend some great areas to live in the area, I would greatly appreciate it.

You may want to post this in the Northern Virginia section. There are a lot of transplants in NOVA, so you won't feel like you're the only one. There are tons of military and gov't workers who have relocated here for jobs. One thing I can recommend is to live as close to possible to your work that you can afford. Traffic in NOVA can be horrible. The less time you spend commuting, the better your sanity holds up.
