We have recently relocated to the DC area and are looking to buy under 1 million with a .25+ acre yard. We commute to North Bethesda.

Most of the neighborhoods we’ve seen feel too cookie cutter or the homes seem too close together (short driveways, close to road, etc).

I love the feel of the Manor Country Club neighborhood with the unique style of homes. So far this has been our favorite neighborhood.

Are there any neighborhoods you can recommend?

Thanks!

Not neighborhoods... build era. Cookie cutter = post war.
You want to search the listings for "Pre War" construction... ~80 years old.

West Rockville, Garrett Park, Kensington would be the closest options, though somewhat limited sub-$1m inventory.

I'd look at Silver Spring inside the beltway.

Very good choice. Also look at parts of Kensington around Connecticut Avenue, but it does not have a country club.

So, why not stick with that?

Manor Country Club isn't gated nor is it particularly wealthy.

Thank God. I was watching the wrong Manor Country Club vid. My bad.

Manor Country Club, the Rockville, MD version is an excellent choice.

At the mement there is a very limited supply of homes for sale. There is only one available under a million dollars.

Mostly because inventory is so limited - plus, many of the homes within the neighborhood are on highway 28 which is too busy of a road for us.

Thank you for replies. I will keep an eye on Garrett Park & Kensington.
