I must ask. What is this ongoing obsession with getting the Super Bowl or the Olympics? It's not just Snyder.

A one-off surge of tourists is not going to bring endless riches to the region (ask New Orleans). Strikes me as more trouble than its worth.

Super Bowl could be fun. Olympics would be a pain in the arse with negligible benefit for the local economy.

Hail to the burgundy and gold Racists. Hope you have an 0-16 season coming up.
You do realize that even if the name changes, the "racist fan base" will still be there, right? Just will be rooting for a different team name. And you do realize that the team is in MD - hardly a "right wing conservative" locale, right?

LOL!

I reckon the thousands of African-American fans are part of this racist Volksturm that gathers every Sunday and exhibits their evil by eating hotdogs, swilling beer, and cheering for a football team.

I swear, if this controversy did not exist, you would have to invent it.

Then again, it really is invented.

This. Anything else would be a waste of money.

I know what you're trying to get at. You must be one of those Virginia bashing Marylanders.

While Virginia on the whole may be a red state, NoVA is about the furthest thing from it.

Making such childish, ignorant generalizations will only cause you to lose credibility on this board.

Black people are incapable of racism? I guess Louis Farrakhan is out there spreading sunshine and racial harmony. Can't believe the people siding with that d-bag Dan Snyder, the creep who gouges on ticket and parking prices squeezing every little dime out of his fans. I swear Redskins fans are like the abused wife who keeps coming back for more lol, of course they justify using a racist name same as they pretend Dan Snyder loves them and has their best interest at heart

I'm not sure where to even begin with this.

They are fans of the team, not Dan Snyder.

This behaviour which you are attacking, is the kind of thing fans in other markets pat themselves in the back for.

So if a professional team called the New York N*****s were in existence, you would be cool with that situation, right? Calling a Native American a "R*****n" is the same offense.

I don't know what market of NFL fans pat themselves on the back for having an owner who gouges on ticket prices and parking. Snyder is playing the Redskins fans like a fiddle, he's getting them and right wingers all over America behind him defending the Redskins name while turning the screws on his fanbase. He's the same as a politician who runs on hot button issues like gay marriage and abortion to distract from real issues. Redskins fans will never wake up, hardcore sport fans aren't much different than religious nuts.
