It's been a strange last few months with such a warm, sunny spring and a poor summer - the smallest difference between the seasons we've ever had. Look at the average max. temps, (plus comparison to average) and total sun/wet hours for the last five months:

April: 18.8C (+6C), 218 hours (+58%), wet hours 4
May: 18.5C (+1.8C), 218 hours (+15%), wet hours 13
June: 20.3C (+0.1C), 183 hours (-5%), wet hours 66
July: 21.1C (-1.3C), 166 hours (-10%), wet hours 31
August: 21.1C (-1.1C), 146 hours (-19%), wet hours N/A

The only real prolonged spell of warm, sunny days we had was several months ago now.

Either way, after the longest summer in my life, I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT enjoying the perspective of winter even here in Nice, those 12°C days and 5pm sunsets are gonna be a real pain.

Dear Singapore, I will be back.
Those 5PM sunsets are another reason to look forward to fall and winter, IMO.

Summer here was slightly warmer than average, much wetter than average, and seemed more humid than usual. Total precipitation for June through August was somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 inches.

Cloudy here today again, they say these clouds are from a Pacific Tropical Storm rather than the Gulf of Mexico. That would signal the end of the Monsoon season and the daily afternoon monsoon rains. We had a freeze, a drought, forest fires and then heavy rains what's next Locusts

Projected high temperatures are only in the low 90s*F in Houston with low temperatures in the 60s*F. I really want to feel 100*F one more time...

I'd happily settle for a mean max of 21.1c. Even during poor summers London is warm.

That's what puts me off moving back up north - the three coldest summer months at Heathrow (a bit warmer than here) in living memory are:

June 1991: 17.8C/9.7C
July 1965: 19.3C/11.7C
August 1963: 19.8C/11.7C

...which is almost exactly average in Leeds After most of the last seven years away I'm not sure I could get used to northern non-summers again.

NO!!!

I want summer. The last few weeks have been beautiful (highs in the high 70s to low 80s), mild nights. It will get cold fast very soon. Ugh. I wish the current weather would last another 3 months.

I spent most of the summer in the Pacific NW. I got only a few days of real summer weather. First time in over 50 years that Seattle hasn't seen a 90° day.

Ugh can't be outside anymore at 8 pm. Or even 7 pm.

When I see your maxes, I keep thinking that's a cool summer mean temperature. Then I realize, wow, that's your summer max.
