Apparently this June is very likely to end up colder than last year's, but it likely won't be as dull or wet.

lol. How about a little visual?

It should be in the mid to upper 70s where there's 50s today.
Even LaGuardia in NYC normal high is 80 degrees now. Not a toasty day for sure.

In fact dont we get to 50s in February sometimes?

Even astronomically speaking, June 21st would be mid-summer (longest day of the year). Meteorologically speaking, I'd be hard pressed to call any day after about May 22nd or so as "spring".

Heat Surge! Check out the 90s into VA and parts of MD and DE. It's 10 above normal in NC/VA, 10-15 below in NY/CT/MA.
Strong Line moving East with numerous trees down along the path. Gust of 75mph was reported.
