If it isn't the snow it's the cold. Lows this am in metropolitan Chicago: -11 Harvard, -11 DeKalb, -10 Streator, -8 Aurora, -8 Rockford, -8 Wheaton



As of 7 AM, 87% of CONUS below freezing and almost 1/3rd below zero °F with latest Arctic blast



At 8AM it's 0F at O'Hare and -1F at Midway. Now -9F in Aurora.

Shreveport, LA: 34 F/1 C with light rain
New Orleans, LA: 36 F/2 C with light rain
Houston, TX: 37 F/3 C and overcast
McAllen, TX: 34 F/1 C with light rain
Pensacola, FL: 39 F/1 C and mostly cloudy
Miami, FL: 81 F/27 C and partly cloudy
Phoenix, AZ: 52 F/11 C and overcast
