24 in the sun isnt bad. I hiked last weekend for 2 hours wearing a sweatshirt and hockey jersey and actually sweat a bit. I was very comfortable until the sun went down.

And why ask "how do we live there"? There is a reason 8+ million people live in this little area alone, its a great place! So what if the winters get cold? Breaks the year up nicely. And besides, you, coming from the land of eternal clouds/rain/mist/etc, dont have room to speak. You can brag when you live in San Diego, thats about it.

The past 2 weeks we have had sun EVERY DAY. It has rained only twice for 2 weeks. The weather here is much nicer than anywhere in the Midwest and the Northeast. In my opinion this is the second best weather in the country after California. The cloudy days in Seattle are 201, in Chicago 176. No big difference. But the temperature in Seattle is MUCHHHHHHHHH NICER all year

2 weeks, eh? Must be some kind of record.

Lets look at sunshine percentage here... While Seattle gets as much sun as CHicago in summer, its fall and winter percentages are lower (and summer too).

Seattle sunshine percentage in January: 28%, Chicago: 46%. Chicago averages 18% more sun.

February... Seattle: 34%, Chicago 47% Chicago averages 13% more sun.

March... Seattle: 42%, Chicago 50% Chicago averages 8% more sun.

April... Seattle: 47%, Chicago 50% Chicago averages 3% more sun.

May... Seattle: 52%, Chicago 57% Chicago averages 5% more sun.

June... Seattle: 49%, Chicago 67% Chicago averages 18% more sun.

July... Seattle: 63%, Chicago 65% Chicago averages 2% more sun.

August... Seattle: 56%, Chicago 63% Chicago averages 7% more sun.

September... Seattle: 53%, Chicago 58% Chicago averages 5% more sun.

October... Seattle: 37%, Chicago 56% Chicago averages 19% more sun.

November... Seattle: 28%, Chicago 39% Chicago averages 11% more sun.

December... Seattle: 23%, Chicago 44% Chicago averages 21% more sun.

I consider winter Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, part of March. On average, during those months, we average almost 15% more sunshine, and its very cloudy here, which makes Seattle ULTRA cloudy.

As you see only December and January are really bad months (the depressing months). That's the real winter here. But we still have at least 4-5 beautiful days in these 2 months. February is already spring here . People who moved from Chicago to Seattle said there is no winter in Seattle and the weather here is much much much better than there all year. Just no comparison

Grow a full-beard!

It's amazing how a good beard can make your face and head feel warmer:

22 C (72 F) feels more like 26 C (78 F)
1 C (33 F) feels more like 10 C (50 F)
12 C (54 F) feels more like 20 C (68 F)
