Paris is NOT the Tropics, my friends, far from it.
Now it's spring, temp in the 40's (wow! "sooo nice to visit museums"...), frequent drizzles interspesed with (feeble) sunshine.
Now it's true we don't have rough, snowy, icy winters, but damp, barely-over-freezing temperatures, gray skies in the end get on you.
It's a bit like we have a long, long autumn 2/3 of the year...yikes!
No, it's not the tropics at 49°N . I'ts like in Seattle here, not Miami.

Well! it's not that bad today! 57° and partly sunny right now at almost 5PM.

Nameless, sorry~they must've been showing the forecast for today (Thurs) and I thought it was Wed.

It is a beautiful 46 degrees here with a windchill of 43. We barely have a breeze at all today, which is nice, cause it's usually very windy here. We're supposed to hit the low 50s today.

Right now it is 39 and still climbing slowly. Supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow with it getting close to 50. Have to love all the water in the roads right now, because each drop represents that much less snow on the ground.

The funny thing is in Eastern North America, temperatures like 85 F will "never" feel 85 F. It will always feel 87 F plus. I think the heat index must have been invented by a Californian or someone from another desert area.

85 F and 45% humidity should have heat index of 85 F, IMHO.

*If I were you I would not consider living in a climate south of D.C. or NYC. when you grow up and move away. I myself would never chose to live a climate farther than 37 degrees from the equator, since I hate it not being 68+ F at least half the year, hate biting afternoon winter winds and hate snow that can stick around more than a week.

But you would probably love it here or in a similar climate, since we usually get 5.5-6.5 months straight with ZERO days reaching 60+ F.
Most people who live here consider that a flaw in our climate, but there are a few rare individuals who actually prefer it.

Alas, we have not had a freeze at all lately. I have a feeling this month will have above normal temperatures. Spring is coming around with some flowering trees starting to come out as well as buds on some trees. It is later compared with last year due to the fact that March 2007 was extremely warm compared to average in my area.

As for our weather, its sunny and 50 degrees today. Same forecasted for tomorrow.
I saw a bug similar to that in appearance, colour and size flying around one afternoon while visiting a friend a couple of months ago. Pretty scary ****.

Was out with the dogs this afternoon and came across a bad-ass moth with a wingspan about as large as my outstretched hand clinging to a tree.
