My dream Xmas eve forecast would be mostly sunny skies with a few clouds and a high of 32C with a low 23C clearing to dark starry skies at night. Of course where I live now, I'm most likely to get a high of 6C and a low of 2C with overcast skies and heavy rain on and off all night

Very similar to Christmas here last year, with a high of 32C and a low of 21C, with a stunning mid afternoon thunderstorm, clearing by sunset.

Since that was such a good Christmas , that would be my ideal forecast.

This would be perfect, I've never experienced a white Christmas. But a return to the 60's right after Christmas would be ideal.

It has happened before in NYC. There is a 25% chance of white Christmas in NYC. A 2009 snowstorm happened on Christmas eve, and impacted NYC as well. A white valentines day is much more likely in NYC though.

That's very little snow. 3.5 inches just barely covers up the grass, leave alone making a snowman.

We got 1.14 in last Christmas eve at midnight. All the snow was melted by 4 am though thanks to hotter air from FREAKY HOT FLORIDA .
