Fargo (US)

Braemar (Scotland)

http://www.city-data.com/forum/attac...1&d=1399144194

which do you prefer?

fargo is 10 degrees colder in winter while braemar is 10 degrees colder in summer.

Both are quite snowy with Braemar having 920 mm of rain and 1200 hrs of sunshine while fargo has 573 mm of rain and 2600 hrs of sunshine.

i would imagine people in fargo would be more comfortable all year around as it has proper summers and more sunshine while braemar seems the sort of place where its cloudy and cold all year around even in summers.

As much as they're both terrible climates, I would choose Fargo for the sunshine and warmer summers.

Braemar has an impressive 5 months, which have a record low colder than -20C. That would have to be the highest number in the UK.

interesting that braemar has recorded temperatures below zero every month......add to that a almost 1000 mm of rain and 1200 hrs of sunshine it must be one hell of a gloomy place.

True, but the Queen seems to love it, she spends august every year in nearby Balmoral Castle

Braemar

Much less sunshine, wetter, cooler summers, etc. Very nice climate.

fargo, no doubt. in fact, fargo has one of the best 4-season climates in the world IMO.

Fargo. I'd just lock myself in my house during the frigid winter. At least there's a nice, warm summer. Also more sunshine. While Braemar's winter is mild, the "summer" is completely horrible. I'd probably wear a thick sweater.
