Pretty much all of my friends are in their overdrafts.

My overdraft limit is £1500, I've been negative for a while now, but when I finish uni I have 3 years to pay it off before I start paying interest on the overdraft, which should be pretty easy.

Well tbh most of the money will be going to saving. I don't think its much, I have to top up my phone and pay £20 for each train ride to Stansted.

No its definitely just about enough, not luxury.

Thats beggerbowl money. I would find it hard to live a basic life under those conditions in any major American city.

Only the boring slab in the middle. It is replacing this, which was cancelled and looked far nicer.

The new proposed building actually looks alright from some angles, eg here...

But then in others it's just a huge wall.

I'm talking about £400 extra after the rent has been paid. So about £120 of that will go on food shops each month if you spend £30/week which is very reasonable for one person.. say another £30-£50 on other things to live a comfortable life each week and I think it is very easy to live very well from £300/month after rent.

Well I don't know but i'd cry if I only got that. You can't go anywhere or do anything.. Its not worth thinking about. But alot of students here are in pure poverty by the sound sof it.

It is really annoying though because the people at uni kept saying to me how much money i'd spend each week and how I wouldn't be able to afford hardly anything. I wanted to say well no but just kept my mouth shut.

The prices they were talking about were disgusting.

I am shocked at how spoiled some people are. It's college! You're not going to be living in luxury.

Obviously you can, I have been living very well with £300/month after rent on average for the last 3 years... don't tell me you can't do that when I have been doing it and living comfortably. I don't even really look at my bank account at all whilst i'm at university.

Well I don't know but it annoyed me how they assumed everyone would be living in poverty. They were annoyed and didn't believe me when I said I could afford to spend more than £20 on food and then said I need to be realistic.

Ugh.. I never said anything because whats the point.
