A bit drier than average, mean temps about 2-3c warmer than average, but it has been so cloudy! A typical November should have seen around 25-30 hrs by now, not 4-5!
I see zero arctic air coming for the US. Flow looks almost entirely zonal minus passing shots of cooler air here and there. Also, it seems like the Pacific Northwest is getting extremely heavy precipitation over the next 1-2 weeks, somewhat unusual for a strong ENSO event.

We will be below normal this weekend but guess what... right back to warming up next week which means Arctic air not around.
We don't need arctic air for snow though and don't forget normals are cold in December for some regions.. Normal low is mid 30s now in early November in CT.
After mid December we could see changes. MJO goes into a better phase. That means Florida might be above normal for another month. Unless clouds and precip can help that.
Not complaining.. 50s/30s and 50s/40s is ok still.. Just need to be entertained with snow & cold anywhere. Prefer it here though.
Such an amazing picture!! And yes, that's so rare. Living in SF for 6 years, we never got lightning.
