You might as well include NC in on this. I have had 4.32" since last Friday and 7.37" for the month. The models are currently predicting another 5" to 8" thru Sunday. My yard is a swamp and the mosquitos are horrible for late September as is the Humidity. Our dew point soared to 77 today.

on that note... Bernie video everyone. I love how he explains things. In fact I actually learned something new with this video on one of the Jet Steam maps I use.

Anyway.. anyone from NC to NJ need to stay on their toes.
This is going to become a hurricane.
Mentions the wind shear becoming lighter.
He rhinks a mid atlantic hit
He mentions the trough position, other players on the field, and other good stuff

Worth watching even if your not in the target areas. Good meteoroligical info!

It's been pretty bad in much of SwVA too. An old covered bridge in Woolwine washed away this morning. Many smaller creeks far out of their banks, some road closures, a mudslide or two, some trees down, etc. I wish I could send some of this rain to my friends and family in CA.

Yep, this is looking very Sandy-like. Georgia is the east coast state with the lowest rainfall amounts. Sandy pretty much had an impact on every east coast state except Georgia. Being farther west longitude wise compared to other east coast states can be both a curse and a blessing.

Flooding reports from Ohio include rivers over their banks. PA are from basement flooding.

Virginia looks like they got problems. Seeing lots of roads flooded.

This river at major flood stage now.

Dear Tropical Storm Joaquin -

Thank you so much for all of the lovely rain. Not only did it cause me to have a two hour commute home, the rain is so heavy my dogs refuse to go outside. (I've already found two "sneaky poops" in the house.) But the best thing about you, Joaquin, is that I get to spend the rest of the night wet-vac-ing my basement.

I really, really, appreciate it. Thanks.

It's weird that this tropical system is supposed to bring highs in the 60s.

Also, I honestly kind of hope it misses, because we've had over 3.5" of rain during the past week; we don't need any more.
At the same time, if it hits, that would help to ensure October and possibly November will be drought free.
