Notice the snow obs at 7.4°C (45°F)?

Meanwhile 21°C/70°F and sunny in Nice.
Not quite to the level Northeast US contrast but still impressively cold for a late April afternoon.

The stage is set. 80F here with tall clouds building.

Still expecting scattered to numerous thunderstorms to develop in the late afternoon as 700 mb inversion erodes and low level convergence increases ahead of the front and MCV currently over central MO. The combination of low to mid 60s dew points pooling ahead of the frontal boundary over central IL/IN/OH, and good surface heating should contribute to ML CAPE values over 2000 J/KG along and west of I-65. Main storm mode should be pulse in nature given the strong instability, but relatively marginal deep layer shear. However, a few storms may exhibit a line segment mode with damaging wind threat

You'll sometimes see my same posts as here in their weather thread but mostly when it snows.

Prefer Chilly and Clear Skies but hey, this beats the 80s just 2hrs from me. lol

WPC North American Surface Analyses

Surface Map. Front literally hovering NYC. Add extra chilly airmass to north. Extra heat from south and you get the Spring gradient.

If it's going to be 10c I at least want some rain with it lol. The rain makes it feel a lot nicer and warmer as opposed to a dry 10c

I'm really surprised there's no thunderstorms along the frontal boundary, perhaps the air mass isn't unstable enough? I see a 73 F in Williamsport, PA and a 42 F only 100-150 miles north in Western NY.

Yeah, the sun here is ridiculous though thankfully it's covered by clouds now.

And yeah, the climate there is sweet I do wish winters were a bit colder or that the UHI in Minneapolis wasn't so intense (perhaps I should look on the outskirts so I get less UHI?) but I won't complain about a -5 C average high and -14 C average low after years of non-winter.

Plus, summer is pretty active with a good amount of storms.

Ah, I stand corrected. I can't believe I missed those storms in PA on the radar.
