lol. You and millions of others... I could use one last winter moment.

WPC says at the end of this week a front will stall over the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean while a shortwave will move from the West and then merge with the front in the south then the storm will move Northeast.

Oh baby

This is from 11pm last night. Not sure how often they update.

WPC's Extended Forecast Discussion

EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
1146 PM EDT SUN MAR 13 2016
VALID 12Z THU MAR 17 2016 - 12Z MON MAR 21 2016

UPPER PATTERN CONTINUES TO BE FAIRLY WELL-FORECAST OVERALL WITH A
LITTLE MORE CLARITY OF THE FORECAST SAT-MON IN THE EAST. THE PAUSE
IN THE FLOW NEAR THE GREAT LAKES THIS THURSDAY WILL RESUME AN
EASTWARD PROGRESSION AND KICK THE FRONT INTO THE ATLANTIC BUT
REMAINED STALLED IN THE GULF. SHORTWAVE MOVING OUT OF THE INTERIOR
WEST WILL MERGE WITH THE BOUNDARY ALONG THE GULF COAST AND TURN
NORTHEASTWARD SAT-SUN. PRECIP WILL EXPAND THROUGH THE SOUTHEAST
AND THEN TO THE NORTHEAST.

RECENT GFS/ECMWF RUNS WERE FINALLY
CLOSER TO THE MEANS, WHICH WERE ALSO FAIRLY CLOSE, IN TIMING AND
TRACK. CONFIDENCE IS NO BETTER THAN AVERAGE SINCE IT STILL IS
SEVERAL DAYS AWAY. REGARDLESS, A BLEND OF THE 18Z GFS/GEFS AND 12Z
ECMWF/ECENS MEAN OFFERED A REASONABLE STARTING POINT FOR THE
FORECAST THROUGH SUNDAY.

SPEED/DEPTH OF THE SYSTEM IN THE
NORTHEAST NEXT MONDAY BECOMES LESS CLEAR, SO OPTED TO BLEND THE
MEANS WHICH FELL SQUARELY IN BETWEEN THE ECMWF AND GFS.

Was hoping it stopped. Only less than 1/4" here so far but annoying steady drizzle and rain at times.

March 21, 2016 Storm:

1 Piece of the Puzzle. I assume that's the front currently over Montana, Idaho, Nevada, and California. Just taking a wild guess, I haven't looked into it but assuming it will take 4 days to move across that should be the one that stalls in the south and near the East coast which the storm will ride.

Cold and damp today here. GFS has us going to 29F around 8 days out. We have to get freezing temps again at some point. I prefer temps moderate down a bit. We need time to enjoy the transition from winter to spring. Plus, if temps get too warm, the flowers on the trees die off pretty fast. I prefer they hang around longer in a more avg Spring.

I spent a New Years with friends once at a nice lodge in the Adrirondacks. There was a huge lake was totally snow covered and we would cross country ski and then have a roaring fire at night. Fantastic way to spend New Years. The city is just terrible in winter conditions. Countryside and mountains so much better for snow.
