Norman, OK is about equally close to both BSk and Dfa climates using the 0°C isotherm. Durham, NC is about equally close to Cfb, Dfa, and Dfb climates because the southern Appalachians have all three.
True that. On rare occasions our high temps are hotter than Los Angeles, which is Csa. Although the lows get pretty cold even if the high for the day is near triple digits. (I think our warmest low last summer was probably like 65-70, but most days it's at best 60 or less)
The climate of my location is Dfa, albeit barely (July average is 73 [22.8]). Drive 30 miles north, and the climate will be firmly Dfb; in fact, all the big climate maps say my location is Dfb already.
We're Cfa, but closely border Dfa. Nashville, TN averages 37.7 F / 3.2 C in January; my area averages probably about 3 degrees F colder. (34.7 F / 1.5 C), not far from Dfa.
Nashville doesn't quite closely border Dfa. That's above the Ohio.
My location is Cfb (oceanic), which I really don’t understand, and I’m close to Cfa (humid subtropical) climates.
There really is nothing oceanic about my climate. It is far more continental than oceanic. The record high is in the upper 90s and the record low is around -20, so I think Köppen got it wrong to classify my location as oceanic.
My location is fairly solidly Cfb according to Koppen. The closest different climate zone is a small patch of Cfc in Snowdonia about 220 km away in north Wales. The Jan and Feb monthly mean would have to drop by about 5C to make it a Dfb climate. A similar drop in summer means would make it Cfc. June rainfall would have to drop by about 22 mm to make it Csb.
