Is it unusual for you to have not yet hit 26°C?

That's why you ignore the total and go with the average! I reckon it's also an easier number to think about than the total. Percentage data would be the best though. Just remember to save the May data or it could be lost forever!

Very. We don't always get there in the spring, but we practically always do in the summer. The last July that failed to hit 26°C was 2011, with a maximum of 25.8°C. The last one before that was 2000, with a maximum of 25.6°C.

And I looked back all the way to 1990 and the only other July that failed to hit 25°C was 1993, and it's missing several days of data so who knows if it actually did.

It should be noted, though, that these measurements are taken at the airport weather station, right by the water where summer temperatures are milder - inland areas can get up to 5°C to 7°C hotter during heat waves so even this year they've certainly exceeded 26°C on numerous occasions.

Still a very mild summer in terms of record temperatures for us, though. And it looks like the trend is continuing into August with forecast highs between 20°C and 22°C for the whole first week of the month.

In the high Arctic, Svalbard Airport recorded the warmest and wettest July ever, 3C above normal with mean 9C, 68 consecutive months warmer than average now.

In Trondheim, a fairly uneventful July, temp about the same as 1986-2015 average, precipitation slightly below average (precip from Voll) and also a cloudy month.
1961-90 average for 24-hr mean was 13.7C, while 1986-2015 average is 15C at Trondheim-Værnes.
First half of the month was cloudy and fairly cool, while last half was warmer than average.

One station from the other main regions of Norway.
