I see the rain coming which be the start of the cooler pattern as the Atmosphere is already digging down south.
30s out there this morning which is purely from Radiational cooling. Airmass aloft is not that cold with this southerly return flow. Some spots near freezing! 6am temps
NWS Issued frost advisories for this morning but none for some areas near freezing. lol. Surely there's frost out there.
Record cold for parts of South tomorrow, atlanta forecast a typical January day tomorrow at 53. Record will fall. Most record low maxes this time of year are in upper 50s to low 60s.
NWS is now showing snow showers for Sunday night and Monday morning. The high on Sunday is only supposed to get to 42, over 20 degrees below average. The record low max is 40.

GFS Max temps tomorrow evening. You can actually see the trough with this and where the cool pocket is inside it. That moves East but notice tomorrow the return south flow still coming on land.
70s in Pittsburgh while 50s in Georgia and 80s in Southern Alberta

Wow, nothing big but interesting. Here's GFS for Sunday morning.
1. You can see the trough carved out in the East.
2. Thick blue line = freezing line at 5000'. So Any "green"(precip) within the thick blue line = snow especially for above 3000' and since it will be before sunrise maybe 1000' as well.. Lighter green obvious lighter precip so either will evaporate before reaching surface or be light snow showers here and there.
