It is decent heat potential in May, for a small island in the north Atlantic that's on a more northerly latitude than Newfoundland. Have a sense of perspective, we can't all be in southerly continental locations with crappy summer day lengths

Having sat in late July and enjoyed the solar midnight twilight by the sea at near 65N I tend to agree with that
It's kinda funny how that coastal stretch has similar summers to Wrexham even though Wrex is sheltered! Late July is very nice in Östanbäck as the area is called! Some seasonal lag by the coast there so it tends to be very mild: I'd say 21/12 the final week of July.

Being a small island surrounded by water I can agree..but Im sure there have been plenty of 26C+ "heat" days at that latitude already in Canada and probably Russia...
As for the summer day lengths, what good are they with those horrible sunshine hours
Sorry just can't ever get used to British media outlets sensationalize temps that are anything but sensational.

Owen has made it clear that your day lengths during the summer are simply unacceptable. So that settles the matter.
Years when the Turku Artukainen (open since 2003) has hit 80F in May: 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016.

George always feels the need to 'laugh' at what we consider heat for some reason. He does it literally every year and I don't understand why.
Considering the fact that you're so obsessed with UK weather forecasts, one would think you could eventually come to terms with it
Not obssessed, just the only English speaking met feed on my twitter and most of the Euro forumers here are English. And no, I'll never come to terms with it. I'll always find the British tabloid hype amusing
