Too much deviation from normal. Snowless winters year after year in a climate where 4-5 months average below freezing, followed by snow in May, summers that are either unrelenting infernos or nearly inexistent, etc. At least daylight changes are the same every year.

Yeah, we kind of are like Melbourne except instead of onr day being far above average and the othet far below, we'll have weeks of far above temps followed by weeks of far below temps, and whole months can deviate massively.
Yeah lol! Melbournes climate is a bit too crazy for me, if the summer weren't so unstable it would be a much better climate. Last year, when I was in Melbourne during summer I experienced one day of 42C and then a cold front come through and the next day recorded a high of 18C with drizzle in the middle of January! Now, being a person from Auckland (literally the most consistent climate you can probably find) it was all a bit too much for me haha.
I still find that sh*t hard to deal with being a local.
When I was in Auckland in November, it was sunny and 21C for the 3 days I was there. Nice
Spring is awful here with the exception of May which is decent. We have way too much volitility in temps. Also Lake Michigan is ice cold and any northeast winds will chill the city and nearby suburbs.
Too little sun in winter and it seems like winters are getting wetter and summers - warmer and drier (that part is good). Also, April should be warmer than it is.
