The fact that August is the hottest month. Really pisses me off. I would much rather the hottest time period of the year be around July 10 - not a month later.
Everything. EV-ER-Y-THING. I live in a freakin' desert. People talk about wonderful mountain views here. I don't get it - since everything is either dead or some ugly grey color you're looking at dead brown and grey rock. We got sub-freezing weather at night here into mid-June this year. I have about a 6 week growing period because we start getting sub-freezing weather again by late August/mid-Sept. It's early Aug and nighttime temps here are already dipping into the 40s.
I hate it. I will be so glad when I can move to a place where water falling out of the sky is a regular occurrence and your best bet for shrubbery isn't sage and tumbleweed.
I'll trade places with you any time. Sounds like a great place to me.
- too short and cool shoulder seasons
- too cool in summer
- too cloudy in winter
- not enough extremes
- not enough thunderstorms
As I've said before, I get a bit of everything, but not enough of almost anything except gloom and mild cold.
The top three echoes me entirely on this side of the same sea. Having said that with extremes I sort of agree in terms of the autumn season, but aside from that I think we get enough extremes, especially cold ones. The -20C night from nowhere last winter is a prime example of that, and the -28C reading 50 km inland in Floda was just insane reversed Californian summer patterns. This is just me having a slightly cooler-summer preference than you have and a much milder-winter preference so that's no big deal, but I'd like to modify the extreme highs and lows from Sep-Oct only here and add some degrees to the record highs for Nov-Mar
Are you REALLY from Lizard Lick? I always thought the only people that lived there were a couple of buffoons that owned a tow company...
Only a couple miles away, technically i live in Zebulon as Lizard Lick is not incorporated. I use Lizard Lick because its famous and no one knows where Zebulon is lol!
- winter and autumn too cloudy
- too many rain days in winter
- temperature wise winters are neither fish nor fowl. They should be either more variable with more frequent, stronger cold snaps and more snow or winter should be much milder to be pleasant.
- not enough thunderstorms
- summers sometimes too dry
- summer lows could be a bit higher
- spring could be a bit warmer
