Thinking about Spring already?

Winter is like an unpleasant house guest. The minute they step foot in your house, you are already wondering when they will leave.

Its all opinion but if you think baking in 100 plus is great half a year..then have at it

Remember this cold snap will end in a week. 30's or 40's is great outdoor weather.

-11C this morning in Central Park... coldest temperature in two winters!

-10C right now, sun not helping much .

Meanwhile it is -9C at Islip, for sure quite rare with full sun.

Dews below -5F!

If anyone has insight into this phenomenon, I thank you for your input in advance:

We had our 3rd coldest winter on record 3 years ago, we haven't had a hot summer since 2012.
Yet all the so-called experts and stats state the planet is getting warmer.
How can this be?.

Street Clouds over the Ocean, so cold aloft.

Incredible at midday 12pm.

6°F Portland
9° Hartford & Boston
13° My Backyard
15° NYC & Nantucket
16° Bridgeport
20° Philly
23° DC & Richmond

WITH FULL SUN...and add the wind! Nuts

Here's the reason why we're able to stay so cold with full sun...

Temps at 5000' are below zero! Deep Arctic airmass aloft which is pressing and mixing down to surface.

Yet the nights aren’t as extreme. Any ideas on why the diurnal range is so low?

Has it been windy? Perhaps that'll keep the temperature from dropping at night too much.
