If it's 10C at 5000' which is the air mass the Euro is saying will drop in, then that means Highs in the Low-mid 70s for NYC and lows in the 50s for suburbs.

Gotta get that airmass aloft cooler than 11C for our max temps to be "unseasonably" cool. Record cold for Mid August is under 7C at 5000'.

Today its 13C at 5000' so that's why the surface is having near normal temps in the 80s.
Only 82° at 2pm today in NYC

For this August I think so. Maybe some heat returns in September. Let's hope.

Cool risks in late August as well thanks to a negative EPO and possibly some recurving Pacific typhoons next week and beyond

Knowing my luck, your location probably will have the most humid summer ever while the plains and Midwest get nothing but non stop cold dry air from Canada along with the coldest driest winter ever for the Midwest

Fort Worth is having one of it’s lamest summers thus far in terms of extreme heat. Ditto for San Antonio where I am heading via a train(Amtrak). I am set to arrive in San Antonio around midnight tonight; I will be back in Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening if my train ride gets delayed again. Hopefully it will rain in Fort Worth this weekend and spare my worries for the transplanted sago palm.

No rain in 8 days. I see a very dry Aug for my area with this never ending west flow.
