It is İzmit. It is with t. İzmir is a different place
Oh I know. I mistyped sorry.
Back when our summers were much hotter. August 1947 had 18 90F/32C+ days and 4 100F/38C+ days. Now we can't even one 100F day in 7 years here. Midway was the official station then. ORD didn't exist. Average high was 90.9F/32.7C average low was 69.5F/20.8C with a mean of 80.2F/26.8C
To be honest, I find it kinda interesting for Chicago because nobody has ac where I live. Neither do I.
I sweat at home during summer and even very much sometimes really but still, having ac would be seen as a luxury thing here. Neither İzmit nor Chicago are like Antalya or Adana in summer, where AC would be a real need. That's my opinion only
Similar temps but I would guess Chicago has higher dew points during heat waves. Haven’t been to Turkey but I recall visiting Rome when the locals were complaining about terrible humidity and it seemed rather tame to me.
Sun is coming out now. Should warm to the mid 80s today. Will be humid.
